Energy Management promotes renewable clean energy use of water, natural gas, and power resources by Riverside County through the use of technology, innovations, and renewable energy systems.
Energy Management uses EnergyCAP software to audit county utility bills for accuracy, identify maintenance issues, and monitor energy conservation efforts.
To address the non-discretionary increases in utility costs, the division partners with the Maintenance Services Division to modify building equipment operations and shift energy use away from peak hours.
Energy Management staff research and apply for competitive grant opportunities to expand energy conservation initiatives at County facilities. A recent example is the use of grant funds for the installation of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations.
